what does the bible really say...
hi out there. i guess i’m in a blogging mood writing 2 days in a row. please check out what i wrote yesterday. the reason i say that is i’m pretty sure what i’m about to write is gonna get some people upset. i don’t think it should…but i’m pretty sure it will. why??? because it cuts across the grain of popular opinion. here is what i’m getting at.

dealing with divisive issues
hi out there. as you know by now, if you have been following along, i am a pastor in modesto, ca. recently we have been working through pauls letter to the ephesians. now i realize many people out there may feel the bible is completely irrelevant to life today, but i’m not one of them. in fact, i believe the more we can align our life with the teaching of scripture, the better our life...
do we really understand love?????
hi out there. been doing a lot of thinking lately about love (there is a variety of reasons for this and i’ll spare you the details). but the bottom line i keep coming back to is i’m not so sure we really understand love as a culture…at least not the kind of love christ calls us to. our brand of love tends toward self-centeredness. we say things like i love____________...

hi out there in blog land. as i begin writing today i am some what torn. with all that is happening around me i feel compelled to comment. but i recognize my purpose in writing this blog is primarily spiritual, and the more i get caught up with all that is going on in our culture right now, the more that line of spirituality gets blurred. so with a certain degree of fear i launch out today. ...
