hi gang, here is the question of the day. i’m driving to the office this morning. you may not be aware of this, but it is GOLF TUESDAY! after all the rain, very much needed. anyway, i’m driving in, listening to k-love and a familiar song begins to play. that’s what faith can do. wonderful song, completely enjoyed it…right up till i began to think, are these lyrics accurate?
whoever is singing is listing out all the wonderful things faith can do. but as far as i can tell faith could do none of those things. maybe you couldn’t have the same song if you sang that’s what GOD can do when we have faith in him. i guess i’m saying we live in a culture that has elevated the idea of faith. we are told to have faith. but faith is only as good as the object of my faith. in other words, without GOD faith is pretty much impotent.
so, am i just a crank? and by the way, i still like the song. since i speak publically all the time i am inclined to cut a singer or speaker some slack for being less than precise :)
peace, its golf tuesday!
